We think many people would agree the two of the best things in life are: beer and video games. And combining both equals an extremely entertaining time. Capacity Bar Group, took this idea and created Headquarters Beercade located in the Lakeview neighborhood in Chicago. The bar offers retro/classic arcade games and a robust variety of craft beers. And what is refreshing is that the bar atmosphere is designed with industrial décor that gives you that underground non-mainstream kind of feel. To make things even more unique, all the TVs play 80’s pop culture sports such as old Reruns of American Gladiator and Wrestlemania.

But it gets better. All the games are FREE. You don’t have to get a roll of quarters like in the old days and you can play unlimited games. The beers, of course, you will have to pay for but that’s still a phenomenal deal.

The bar has over 30+ games and has recently expanded to the building next door to double their size. You will find games such as: Mortal Kombat II, Donkey Kong, NFL Blitz, TMNT and my personal favorite NBA JAM.

People from all over Chicagoland come to this bar and its always packed on the weekends. It’s so popular that you will often see long lines of people waiting to get in. So, if you want to play, plan on arriving before the crowd.
